Our school has a strong reputation in the wider community and has experienced steady growth in recent years. Currently 20 classes provide quality teaching and learning experiences for children from Prep Year to Year 7. While a large number of students leave Brookfield State School to attend private schools throughout Years 4-7, strategies have been implemented and this trend has been greatly reduced in the past five years. The standard of achievement of students at Brookfield State School continues to be above the State Benchmarks and in the majority of areas is above Like School Benchmarks. However those students who require extra assistance with academic work are provided with a range of support programs. See our School Annual Report. There is also a large number of students who receive extension work due to special talents and capabilities. The majority of students are well behaved and co-operative and demonstrate a respect for authority and acceptance of responsibility for their actions with no serious behaviour problems evident. Student attendance rates are excellent. The community values the education of their children and ensures support in all aspects of the school. |
